Touch and Smell, goes a long way with a horse.

Horses have five highly developed senses.  They also have a sixth sense.  What  we call a finely tuned perception. 

You hear people say ” I am afraid of this horse and he/she knows it” . 

The horse is acutely aware of the persons body language and posture.  He will detect rapid breathing and heightened adrenalin levels, increased sweating due to stress.  A horses intuition picks up a great deal of information from the world around him. So the question do they smell fear or are there many other ways…
